E. E. C. M. Y International Mission Society appoints Rev. Wagnew_Andarge as Director.
The International Mission Society elected Rev. Wagnew_Andarge as its new director during its 9th General Assembly.Rev. Wagnew has been serving as the President of the Central North Ethiopia Synod and a member of the International Mission Society Board.Rev. Wagnew also serves as the Amhara Regional Coordinator of the Ethiopian Evangelical Churches Council.
The Mission Society also elected new board members, including women and youth, as board members. At a meeting held at the Gudina Tumsa Training Center on Feb. 9 2026 , the Society’s Board Chairman, Rev. Fikadu Begna, presented a report on the 2025 fiscal year.The Mission Society’s Attorney General, Ato Melaku Amenu, also announced the audit findings. The meeting also heard the audit findings submitted by an independent body. Questions and suggestions were raised by the participants in the meeting, and the Board Chairman, Rev. Fikadu Begna, the Vice Chairman, Dr. Wodesa Yachis, and the outgoing Director, Rev. Tilaye Kebede, responded.
The new Director, Rev. Wagnew, stated that he is prepared to lead the Mission Society in a more strategic way in his future ministry. Rev. Dr. Lelisa Daniel, who was elected as the Chairman of the Mission Society’s Board, stated that he plans to set a strategic roadmap and work with all the congregations. The Mission Society has also allotted Ato Idosa Kesi as the Head of Administration and Finance. Ato Idosa said that when the work of the mission association is elevated with God, we will work diligently on the work of the gospel.
The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus International Mission Association has been sending missionaries to various African and Asian countries for nearly 18 years, both full-time missionaries and tent-based missionaries.
