Gimbichu, located 30 kilometers from the capital of central Ethiopia, Hosanna, is the seat of the West Gibe Synod.This synod has thirteen parishes and 160 congregations.”Gimbichu… Mission-friendly” is a synod that has won three awards in 2017 Ethiopian calanders. It came in third place out of 43 synods, raising over Ethiopian birr 948 thousand;while Danta Congregation came in second and Ansho Congregation came in third, making history among congregations from all over Ethiopia.
Gimbichu, which is suitable for missions, celebrated Mission Day in a better and more organized manner in 2018. On January 8 and 9, 2018 Ethiopian calander, a two-day training was given by the Mission Office to the leading priests of the congregation, parish leaders, and more than 200 relevant leaders. The training included topics on the concept of mission, the 11th hour call, mission and the end times, and mission and strategic planning. The trainees also said that it opened their eyes and inspired them to do better work. Finally, on behalf of the Synod, the head of the DMT Department, Rev. Getachew, and the leaders of the Ansho and Danta congregations received their awards.
Indeed, Gimbichu… is suitable for missions.
